The videos below are example compilations from the thermal scanner system's 2D map sequences. These maps can be produced and viewed in real time or stored and viewed retrospectively by the plant historian.

 

The video above shows an example of flame impingement on a 800MW supercritical boiler wall in the US. The scanner electrode matrix is 7 x 13 electrode locations. Brighter colours represent higher fireside tube wall temperatures (purple (800F) to white (1200F and above)).

Improved heat transfer, as a result of sootblowing activity on a 800MW supercritical boiler wall, can be seen in the video above. The scanner electrode matrix is 9 x 9  locations.
